Hello bookworms, today I have a surprise for you, a first on my blog… An interview! The amazing Trina (@trinareadsbooks) has been kind enough to answer some questions for me/us about her book choices. I hope you enjoy, and if you do don’t forget to like, comment, and follow!
What makes you pick up a book?
I’ll admit the gorgeous covers I see all over Instagram and Tumblr are a main draw to learn more about a book. However, the synopsis or descriptions I find with those posts are what make or break my decision to buy/read it. It has to intrigue me before I’m willing to commit.
What is your main reason for reading?
I mainly read for entertainment. Movies and TV shows don’t really keep my interest, but books always keep me coming back for more. Whether it’s a reread or completely new to me, I get much more enjoyment from written word than visual mediums much of the time.
What is your favorite bookstore/library and why?
I honestly do most of my book shopping or borrowing through online means these days, so I don’t have a favorite bookshop or library to visit. But I definitely recommend checking out Amazon’s other seller’s option if you’re a bit introverted like me. They are great ways to find deals and support some smaller businesses at the same time.
What is your favorite book and why?
My all-time favorite book is I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak. I first read it my senior year of high school when I felt pretty adrift in life. It’s underlying messages of small deeds being important and overall reassurance that it’s okay not to really know where you want to go or who you want to be just caught me. Plus, the writing is just really captivating and funny as well. If y’all would like to read more of my thoughts on I Am the Messenger, I do have a full review on my blog as well.
Number one blogging tip:
Don’t be afraid to participate! The reason blogging is awesome is because it connects us to others who are interested in the same things. So comment on that post, send a message to the blogger you want to chat with, take part in that challenge or tag you keep seeing on your feed/dash. You have a unique perspective and talents to bring to the field and it’s worth saying or doing, I promise.
